By far, one of the questions I get asked most is – what to wear to an office holiday party.
The usual concern is how to look festive but still be work appropriate. While I would love to be able to provide a universal response, unfortunately that isn’t possible because whether an outfit is considered work appropriate or not depends on your office dress code. That being said, whether you work in a super casual or ultra conservative environment I would follow this golden rule – don’t expose too much skin. And the more conservative your work space is the more covered you should be.
Having worked as an attorney in a conservative work space, I wanted to share an outfit that would work perfectly for that type of office holiday party. That being said, remember conservative doesn’t mean your look has to be boring! This Chicwish maxi skirt is pretty, doesn’t feel stiff, and the slightly sheer panel at the bottom of the skirt shows an appropriate amount of skin without being too much.
For the top, I chose a sleeveless turtleneck; this combination strikes the perfect balance by not exposing too much skin (for a non-work event, the skirt would look amazing paired with a crop top or cami)! I also selected a black top to balance the design of the skirt and keep the overall look more conservative.
I hope this blog post helps with what to wear to your office holiday party! Feel free to let me know if you have additional questions in the comments section and make sure to check out some of my other office holiday party finds below!
