Taking Denim from Day to Night

Before I get to today’s post I want to thank all of you. One of my favorite things to do is transition an outfit from day to night. A great way to accomplish this transition is with denim.
 
The key is to make sure that denim is comfortable enough to wear all day and night, which is exactly how I would describe this denim skirt from Ann Taylor!! It has the perfect amount of stretch so that the denim isn’t too rigid, but it’s not so stretchy that you feel the skirt is clinging to you. Aside from how comfortable this skirt is, I also LOVE the nautical feel. The placement of the buttons creates a slimming effect and any skirt that has pockets is always a win for me!
 
If you want to wear an outfit that can go day to night without changing anything, a great way to do so is by pairing a more casual top with dressier heels. The thought of wearing heels all day might seem daunting but if you choose a pair of block heels, then you won’t even feel like you’re on a heel! I’ve always been a fan of mixing yellow and denim so when I spotted these yellow block heels I knew they would be the perfect finishing touch for this look!
