Summer Staple: The Maxi Dress

One of my summer staples is the maxi dress. Here’s why:
 
 
THEY ARE COMFORTABLE
When it gets really hot out, the last thing you want to do is wear something tight-fitting (sweating plus form fitting garments equals a nightmare)! Instead you want to choose garments, like a maxi dress, that are loose fitting and breezy.
 
 
THEY ARE VERSATILE
Not only do maxi dresses transition seamlessly from day to night, but they also work great as a beach cover-up!
 
During the day, keep your jewelry to a minimum and opt for flats or sandals (instead of sandals with a high heel) in order to maintain that casual, effortless feel.
 
At night, switch your jewelry and consider adding a blazer (I love this one). When deciding on a pair of shoes for the evening, opt for pair of sandals with a heel instead of closed toe pumps.
 
 
THEY ARE AFFORDABLE
Sure you can find maxi dresses out there that are expensive, but there are plenty of options that are super affordable and look just as great. In fact, the dress I’m wearing in this post is currently on sale for $38.90. It doesn’t get much better than that!
