I love statement necklaces. They are one of the easiest and inexpensive ways to add visual interest to an otherwise plain/boring outfit.
Statement necklaces are also an easy way to add versatility to your wardrobe.
Because the necklace is the focal point of your outfit you could, for example, wear the same sweater and jeans on Monday with one statement necklace and then wear the same sweater and jeans on Friday with a different statement necklace, and then wear the same sweater and jeans the following week with a different statement necklace (you get the picture!) and no one will notice.
In fact you are likely to get compliments on your outfit all three days.

I also love statement necklaces because of their versatility. The same necklace can be paired with both a casual and more dressy look.

Statement necklaces are also a great way to liven up your work wardrobe, especially if your office has a more conservative dress code.

When wearing a statement necklace, the key is to keep the rest of your jewelry to a minimum, especially your earrings. In fact, I always pair a statement necklace with stud earrings.
Notice how in the photo on the left the earrings and necklace are competing with one another. In the photo on the right, the statement necklace is balanced perfectly with my diamond studs.
Where to Buy:
Some places to find less expensive statement necklaces are Forever 21, H&M, Zara, Topshop, ASOS, Bauble Bar, and on sites like Etsy, Outnet, Bluefly, Gilt, RueLaLA, MyHabit, and Hautelook.
J.Crew and Amrita Singh have statement necklaces which are slightly more pricey, however both sites often have sales and offer promo codes.
Some of my favorite places to shop for more high-end statement necklaces include: Ranjana Khan, Dannijo, Lulu Frost, Roberta Freymann, Gemma Redux, and DYLANLEX.
If you find a high-end brand that you like, go to the brand’s website and subscribe to the mailing list. Most brands have sample sales during the year (when their products are offered at a significant discount) and if you are on their mailing list you will get notified of these sales.
And now I turn it over to you. Do you also love statement necklaces? If you haven’t worn them in the past, do you think you might give them a try now? Let me know in the comments below!

Would love to know how you store these!

Hi Allie!
I store my statement necklaces in velvet jewelry trays and then I label the side of each tray so that I can easily find the necklace that I am looking for. I actually wrote a post on this exact topic! Here is the link! http://www.yaelsteren.com/how-to-organize-your-jewelry/
