Ever since her debut collection, I’ve been a huge fan of Marissa Webb. Her pieces strike the perfect balance between feminine and masculine. This balance was perfectly illustrated in one of my favorite looks from her SS 2017 collection.
As an admirer of her work, I often left comments on Marissa Webb’s Instagram page. Much to my surprise (and delight), Marissa would often leave a comment back. After some time passed, Marissa started following me on Instagram (to say that I was flattered is an extreme understatement) and eventually we starting to DM one another.
What immediately struck me was how down to earth and genuine Marissa was. Here she was, a well-known, respected designer taking the time to message and eventually meet with me. When I first started blogging, I imagined I would meet and become friends with other bloggers in my industry. What I didn’t anticipate was meeting and becoming friends with a fashion designer. And yet, that’s exactly what happened with Marissa Webb.
As a result, today’s post is more personal to me than most as I’m sharing one of my favorite pieces from Marissa Webb – this insanely cool and stylish jacket!
Of course, I’m a huge fan of the color – olive is one of those universally flattering colors on blondes and brunettes alike! I’m also obsessed with all the thoughtful details on this jacket, like the asymmetrical overlay, the raw edges, and the elastic gathering on the back of the jacket, which creates the perfect shape.
