I love outfits that can easily transition from day to night. Today’s outfit is a perfect example of an outfit that works equally as well during the day as it does at night.
If you work in an office that is more conservative, you can easily throw on a blazer and a pair of black pumps and be work appropriate. At night, switch out the pumps for a pair of ankle boots, like the ones I am wearing in this post, take off the blazer, and put on some red lipstick to add a bit of pop to the outfit!
Lastly, let’s not forget about the jewelry. For daytime, if you work in a conservative office, the gold rings I am wearing in this post are perfect, as they are simple, pretty, and not too edgy. At night, you can add in a more edgy ring to the mix, like the black one I am wearing in this post.
I am also excited to announce that if you order any jewelry from Love Juliet (the brand of the gold rings I am wearing in this post) you will receive a 10% discount if you use the code yaelsteren.
What’s your favorite way to transition an outfit from day to night? Let me know in the comments below!

Hi Yael! Question about the boots: first, the reviewers say to order a size up. Did you really find them true to size? Second, how is the gap in the ankle area. Can you wear with skirts or is the ankle gap wide (pet peeve). I assume the buckle doesn’t really tighten them around the ankle. Thanks!!

Hi Kara!
I personally found them true to size. I ordered 7 1/2 (my normal size) and an 8 (because I also saw that people were saying to size up), and the 7 1/2 was perfect and the 8 was way too big!
As for the gap in the ankle area, it’s not very wide, but there is definitely a gap (that being said, I do have skinny ankles, so depending on your ankles the gap might be more or less prominent). If you wear the shoes with a skirt and have on black opaque tights, I think it will look great; but I am not sure what you consider too wide.
The good news is that you can return the boots for a refund, so you could always order them and if the gap is too wide for your personal preferences then you can return them and get your money back!
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions! xoxo yael
