One helpful trick I learned awhile back from a makeup artist is the importance of using an eyeshadow base before you apply your eyeshadow.
{Eyeshadow base: Edward Bess}
It is important to use an eyeshadow base for two reasons: 1) your eyeshadow will apply evenly and won’t crease throughout the day and 2) your eyeshadow will stay put for many more hours.
Edward Bess Illuminating Eyeshadow base comes in three different shades. Cashmere is the lightest shade (this is the one I use), Dune is for medium skin tones and Suede is for darker skin tones.
To apply the base, I apply the product from the wand and then distribute it over my whole eyelid with my finger. Super simple!!

I always use a foundation/concealer as an eye makeup base. My favorite has been Laura Mercier Secret Concealer and I used it on my eye lids and under my eyes. It has actually been a game changer with my under-eye circles.
Thanks for all your great posts – I ready them every week and even adopted a Friday Favorite on my blog :)
