Fall Feels

It is finally starting to feel like fall in NYC, so let’s talk about four of the biggest fashion trends this season: rust, plaid, mom jeans, and sock booties!
 
I’ve always been a huge fan of the color rust so I’m super excited to see it being incorporated in so many collections right now. Rust is a universally flattering color; the trick is to choose the right shade of rust (i.e. cooler vs warmer tone). Rust is also really easy to pair with other colors, which makes putting together an outfit that much simpler!
 
Plaid is another major trend for fall – especially plaid blazers! If the thought of wearing a plaid blazer is overwhelming to you, opt for a blazer with a smaller plaid print. If you’re feeling more bold, pair a plaid blazer with plaid pants. And if you’re really fashion forward and not afraid to play with fashion, mix and match two plaid prints together!
 
I’ve spoken about my love for the next fall fashion trend – mom jeans – several times on the blog. As I’ve said before, these jeans are not going to be flattering on everyone. In fact, they aren’t even the most flattering on me. That being said, I do love their relaxed nature and, of course, that they are extremely high-waisted!
 
Last, but (certainly)not least, sock booties (I am going to devote a whole blog post to this topic, so stay tuned to hear why I love this trend). I’m obsessed with the color of the sock booties I’m wearing and I also like that they have a kitten heel, which means I can walk all day in them and still be comfortable. Just a heads up – the ones I’m wearing run big so make sure to size down by ½ a size if you order them!
