Fall fashion week made it clear that the plaid trend is here to stay and I’m all for it. So for today’s post I decided to combine my love for plaid with my other fashion love – blazers!
There is something so impossibly chic and timeless about a plaid blazer. It instantly adds a polished feel to any outfit. As someone who is a fan of menswear for women, I also love the masculine vibe that a plaid blazer gives to a look.
If the thought of wearing a plaid blazer is overwhelming to you, opt for a blazer with a smaller plaid print, like the one I’m wearing in this post, and keep the rest of your outfit neutral. If you’re feeling more adventurous, then look for one with a plaid pattern that is larger and has colors that contrast with the main color of the blazer (for example here).
Before I end today’s post, I want to take a quick moment to talk about the upcoming election. Putting political views aside, the act of voting is more important now than ever before. When We All Vote is a non-profit, non-partisan organization whose mission is to close the race and age voting gap and increase voter participation in every election. Bloomingdale’s has partnered with When We All Vote and Allen Hughes, who created this Vote mask, to help raise awareness for When We All Vote’s mission. Ten dollars from each pack of masks purchased will go directly to When We All Vote. You can purchase the masks here.
(Now that stores in NYC are open again, I decided to take advantage and visit the Bloomingdale’s store in Soho. I felt really safe – masks are required and in addition to the signs throughout the store, they made announcements over the PA system reminding customers of this rule. Everyone was also really respectful about being socially distanced.)
