As you guys already know, I am a big proponent of investing in classic pieces.
When you invest in timeless (read: non-trendy!) pieces they will never go out of style and will last you for years to come. In fact, I have owned many of the items in this post for close to ten years.
Although it can be daunting to spend a lot of money on an item, remember to keep in mind the “cost-per-wear” (CPW). CPW is calculated by dividing the price of the item by the number of times you wear the item.
A $600 classic leather jacket that you wear 200 times (CPW = 600/200 = $3) over several years is a better value than a $200 trendy jacket that you wear 20 times (CPW = 200/20 = $10) in one year before it goes out of style!
{Leather Jacket: All Saints (old), love this one | Top: Theory (old) | Pants: Helmut Lang (old), similar here | Boots: Jimmy Choo (old), similar here | Sunglasses: Maui Jim | Ring: David Yurman}
